Flag football player of the week – March 21-26

Here are the nominees for the flag football player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Titi Comer, Sr., Bloomingdale: Threw for a combined 405 yards and five touchdowns and ran for another 41 and two more scores against Newsome and Durant. 

Theresa Hospodarek, Jr., Newsome: Recorded 70 yards receiving and a touchdown on offense and had 11 tackles and four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown in wins over Bloomingdale, Sumner and St. Petersburg. 

Sulieny Mejia-Mellis, Sr., Leto: Finished with 85 yards receiving and a touchdown, added 31 yards rushing and recorded seven tackles and two sacks against Middleton.

Tamara Moragne, Sr., Northeast: The two-sport standout played well on both sides of the ball, finishing with five catches and 80 yards, as well as rushing for 45 and scoring the game’s only touchdown on the ground. On defense, Moragne recorded six tackles to lead the Vikings to a 6-0 victory over Pinellas Park.

Isabella Recktenwald, Jr., Plant City: Threw for a combined 495 yards and four touchdowns in wins over Brooks DeBartolo and Sebring. She also picked off a pass on defense against Sebring.

Cami Sai, Jr., Robinson: Had eight tackles (flag pulls) in a win over Plant.  

Makenna Sturgis, Fr., Alonso: The dependable target had a memorable performance in a win over Steinbrenner. Sturgis ended up with six catches for 200 yards to set the school record for receiving yards in a game. She surpassed the previous mark of 176 set by Alyssa Jones in 2018. Three of Sturgis’ receptions went for touchdowns in the 39-0 rout that improved the Ravens’ record to 4-0.
