Hernando takes third at Kissimmee Klassic

The Leopards, who made the state final last season, bolstered their regular season schedule to prepare for another potential deep postseason run.

The tough games included a trip to Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports Complex for the Kissimmee Klassic.

Hernando fared well, going 2-1 to take third place, which was decided on a coin after the consolation game was canceled because of the weather.

In the opening round, the Leopards had perhaps their biggest win of the season, beating previously undefeated Melbourne 1-0. Ava Braswell threw a one-hit shutout with six strikeouts and Hannah Lynch had a double in the sixth inning that drove in Solaris Genberg for what turned out to be the winning run.
