Hillsborough County baseball player of the week – April 4-9

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County baseball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

C/OF Justin Allen, Jr., Sickles: Ended up going 3-for-4 with a double and six RBIs in a win over Robinson. 

P/UTIL Andrew Bunner, Fr., Tampa SLAM: Had three doubles, five RBIs and four runs scored in leading the Spartans to win over Seven Rivers Christian in the SSAC 3A state championship game. 

C/OF Gunnett Carlson, Sr., Berkeley Prep: Had a combined four hits, including two doubles, to go along with four runs scored and three RBIs in three games. 

P Zack McQuiston, Jr., Cambridge Christian: Threw 6 ⅔ scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out 13 in a win over Carrollwood Day. 

OF/P Eric Duran Padua, Jr., Alonso: Went a combined 4-for-7 with two RBIs and two runs scored in wins over Plant City and Leto. 

P/OF Danny Lazarro, Jr., Tampa Catholic: Threw four scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out five, and went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in a win over Barren County. 

C Alejandro Montada, Sr., Jefferson: Powered the Dragons by going 3-for-3 with two homers and six RBIs in a win over Chamberlain. 

SS/OF Colton Pizzio, Sr., Leto: Finished a combined 7-for-11 with three doubles and five runs scored in four games.
