Girls basketball: Pinellas County player of the week — Jan. 31-Feb. 4

Sydney Jackwin, Sr., Keswick Christian

Position: Guard

Season stats: 293 points, 188 rebounds, 112 steals, 109 assists and four blocks. 

The lowdown: Jackwin finished her career as Keswick Christian’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,376 points. She also holds three school records: steals in a game (21), steals in a season (180) and career steals (758). This year, Jackwin was named the Florida Athletic Coaches Association 2A player of the year in her district in both volleyball and basketball. She also received FACA all-academic awards in both sports. Two months ago, Jackwin Scored a team-high 23 points  to lead the Crusaders in a win over Bradenton Christian in the Class 2A, District 11 championship game.  Fans were impressed. Jackwin had 75 percent of the votes in the Pinellas County girls basketball player of the week poll to beat out Lakewood’s Alahni Lovett, who had 13 percent (295 votes).
