Former Plant/Indiana star Micah McFadden goes to the Giants in the fifth round

Micah McFadden, a tenacious linebacker who was starred at Plant and Indiana, was selected by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.

McFadden is the second former Panther to be taken this year’s draft, joining North Dakota State’s Christian Watson, who went to the Green Bay Packers in the second round.

The Giants have had a local flavor to Saturday’s selections. In the fourth round, they took former Jesuit and Iowa safety Dane Belton.

McFadden finished his Hoosier career with 216 tackles, 14 sacks, four interceptions, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups.
