NFL: Former Jesuit/Iowa star Dane Belton goes to the Giants in the fourth round

Dane Belton, a playmaking safety who starred at Jesuit and Iowa, was selected by the New York Giants in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.

He is fourth local to be selected during this weekend’s draft.

Last season, Belton was one of the leaders of a ball hawking Iowa secondary that recorded 25 interceptions. Belton, a three-year contributor with the Hawkeyes, earned first-team All-Big Ten honors and finished last season as only seven Power 5 defenders with at least five interceptions.
