Here are the capsules for Pasco County baseball teams playing in tonight’s region quarterfinals in Classes 7A-5A. The 5A winners advance to Thursday’s region semifinals while the winners in 7A-6A move on to Friday’s semifinals.

Class 6A

Mitchell (16-8) at Palmetto (14-12), 7

The Mustangs, ranked 13th in the class by MaxPreps, are looking to snap a three-game losing streak heading into the playoffs. The biggest key is getting more production out of the offense after scoring a combined five runs in the last three games. After losing three of four to close out the regular season, the Tigers won two straight, beating Palmetto Ridge 1-0 and Bradenton Manatee 7-1 for the 6A-8 district title.
