Softball: Pinellas County region quarterfinal breakdown (Classes 4A-2A) — May 11

Here are the capsules for Pinellas County softball teams playing in tonight’s region quarterfinals in Classes 4A-2A. The winners advance to Tuesday’s region semifinals.

Class 4A

Lake Region (14-11) at Dunedin (19-8), 7

The Falcons, who are on a three-game win streak, won their fourth straight district title last week. Their opening game could be challenging. The Thunder are ranked seventh in the class by MaxPreps and had their four-game win streak snapped with a 1-0 loss to Robinson in the 4A-11 title game.

The Warriors, ranked eighth in the class by MaxPreps, have to travel after losing 2-1 to Parrish Community in the 3A-11 title game. The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents by a combined 43-9 during their current four-game win streak.
