Class 7A

Plant (22-6) at Windermere (25-3), 4:30

Pitching and timely hitting have been the keys to the Panthers’ postseason run. During its current four-game win streak, Plant has allowed a combined three runs and recorded two shutouts. The Wolverines, ranked second in the class and seventh in the state, have won 14 straight games. Two of their three losses this season have been by a run.

Class 6A

Strawberry Crest (20-8) at Sickles (23-6), 7

This is a rematch from a game the Gryphons won 6-0 last month. This time, the stakes are higher with the winner moving on to the state semifinals. Since that loss, the Chargers have won nine of their last 11 games and are currently on a five-game win streak. Sickles, ranked seventh in the class by MaxPreps, has won four straight games, the last a 3-2 nail-biter against Mitchell in the region semifinals.

Class 4A

Hernando (20-8) at Dunedin (20-8), 6:30

The Falcons, ranked eighth in the class by MaxPreps, are one win away from returning to the state semifinals. Pitching has been a big reason for Dunedin’s success. The Falcons have allowed a combined four runs in their last six games. But their offense also has delivered. Dunedin is averaging eight runs per game during their current four-game win streak. The Leopards recovered from a 3-6 stretch to close out the regular season to win four straight games. Each of the last three victories has been by a run.
