Outlook

The Tigers, ranked second in the class and ninth in the state by MaxPreps, are in the state semifinals for the first time since 2019, the last year they won a title. Jesuit is playing its best at the right time. In three playoff games, the Tigers have outscored foes by a combined 40-3. The offense is adept at the long ball. Jesuit has 24 home runs this season and has three players – Jake Kulikowski, Wes Mendes and AJ Nessler – who have at least four this season. That’s not all. The Tigers have plenty of quality pitching, too. The Golden Eagles, ranked ninth in the class, scored the biggest of the tournament in this week’s region finals, knocking off Plantation American Heritage, the top team in the class which was ranked 12th nationally.
