Here are the nominees for the Hernando County softball team of the week during the district tournaments. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Academy at the Lakes: The Wildcats recorded a pair of shutouts, beating Foundation Christian 6-0 in the semifinals and Seffner Christian 6-0 in the final to take home the Class 2A, District 9 title. 

Mitchell: The defending state finalist Mustangs beat rival Land O’ Lakes 9-2 in the semifinals before losing 1-0 to Sickles in the final of the Class 6A, District 5 tournament. 

Wesley Chapel: The Wildcats won their first district title in school history, beating Cypress Creek 7-1 in the semifinals and Nature Coast 15-3 in the final of the 4A-9 tournament. 

Wiregrass Ranch: The Bulls shutout Tampa Bay Tech in the semifinals (10-0) before losing 10-7 to Strawberry Crest in the Class 6A, District 6 tournament.
