Outlook
The Warriors, who are ranked third in the class by MaxPreps, are in the state semifinals for the first time. But this is not the first appearance for four starters – Mackenzie Bergstrom, Payton Cushman, Irianis Garcia and Morgen Talley – all of whom won the Class 2A state title at Canterbury a year ago before deciding to play for Calvary Christian this season. The Warriors earned the trip exacting revenge on Parrish Community, the team that beat them in the district final, by winning in the region region semifinal, then getting past defending state champion Academy of the Holy Names in the region final. Offensively, Calvary Christian can do some damage. After all, the Warriors have reached double digits in scoring in four of their past five wins. Still, it will not be easy in the state semifinals. Baldwin is ranked second in the class and 10th overall in the state by MaxPreps.
