Here are the nominees for the Hernando County softball team of the week from the region quarterfinals. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Hernando: The Leopards got off to a strong start on their postseason run with a 10-0 victory over The Villages. 

Nature Coast: The Sharks lost a heartbreaker, allowing the only run of the game in the sixth inning in a 1-0 loss to Lake Wales. 

Springstead: The Eagles played tough in a 1-0 loss to River Ridge.
