Here are the nominees for the Pasco County softball team of the week from the region quarterfinals. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Academy at the Lakes: The Wildcats had 11 hits and had a commanding five-run lead after the first inning in a 13-0 win over Naples Seacrest Country Day. 

Land O’ Lakes: The Gators broke open a close game by scoring a combined seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to beat Strawberry Crest 10-2. 

Mitchell: The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 6-3 victory over Sarasota. 

River Ridge: The Royal Knights’ only needed one run in the first inning thanks to stellar pitching in a 1-0 victory over Springstead. 

Wesley Chapel: The Wildcats needed some late-inning dramatics to pull out a 2-1 victory over Hardee.
