Softball: Hannah Taylor named 3A state player of the year

Hernando’s Hannah Taylor, who led the state in RBIs, was named the Class 3A softball player of the year by the Florida Dairy Farmers.

Taylor finished her junior season with a .484 average and had six homers, five triples and 16 doubles to go along with her state-leading 51 RBIs.

Her ability to drive in her teammates was a big reason the Leopards finished 25-5 and reached the 3A state title for the second straight season.

The winners in each classification were selected through voting from a statewide panel of softball coaches and media representatives. They are now eligible to be named the overall winner in the state, which will go through another round of voting and likely be announced later this week.
