Lakewood’s Anthony Colandrea commits to Virginia

Last month, Anthony Colandrea picked up an offer from Virginia. Soon after, the Lakewood quarterback decided that was where he wanted to go.

On Friday, he made it official, announcing his commitment to the Cavaliers via social media.

Colandrea, a three-star recruit, said the coaching staff sold him on the school.

“I love what they are building,” he said.

In April, Colandrea committed to Middle Tennessee State. Two months later came the offer from Virginia. It was his second offer from a Power Five program (the other came from Kentucky in June of last year).

Colandrea is the third Spartan from the 2023 class to make his college commitment, joining Isaiah Nixon (Florida) and Montravius Lloyd (Pittsburgh). Last season, Colandrea threw for 3,335 yards and 41 touchdowns while leading the Spartans to the state semifinals.
