Football: Stacy Gage transfers to Wharton

Stacy Gage, one of the top prospects in the 2024 class, announced on social media that he was transferring from IMG Academy to Wharton.

Gage was a youth legend in Tampa. Two years ago, he decided to go to IMG instead of Tampa Bay Tech. In the past two seasons with the Ascenders, Gage developed into one of the best running backs in the country.

According to 247Sports’ composite list, Gage is a four-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 2 running back in the nation and the 12th-best player in the state in the 2024 class. He already has more than 40 offers, including Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

With the Wildcats, Gage will provide some oomph to their offense. Wharton has already added quarterback Jackson Jensen from Carrollwood Day and has a stellar group of returners from a team that went 9-3 last season and reached the region finals.
