Outlook

Steve Stanley, hired as coach this offseason, will try to provide some stability for a program that has gone through four coaching changes in as many years. Despite the turnover, the Lancers have been able to keep most of their roster intact. Chris Stephenson, a multidimensional force who had 1,271 yards (672 passing, 591 rushing) and 12 touchdowns (seven rushing, five passing) returns for his senior season at quarterback. Two of the top three receivers, Neman Stevens and Jakari Patterson, also are back. Napoleon Hunter III is a dynamic threat who could be used as a rusher or receiver and will make an impact on defense, too. Other defensive players to watch include Dyquan Vance (36 tackles, two sacks last season), linebacker Will Prezioso (69 tackles, two sacks) and defensive back Shane Froelich (25 tackles, team-leading four interceptions).
