Outlook

Gulf coach Sean Eperjesi did some impressive things with the program in his first season as coach. The Buccaneers not only snapped a 29-game losing streak that dated back to 2018 but they also won three games. That equaled the win total from the previous five seasons combined. Now, the goal is to do more than just win a few games. Gulf is trying to contend for a district title. The optimism stems from key returners, including quarterback Ethan Holewski, who threw for 1,022 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He will have plenty of protection from a veteran offensive line, led by Cody Dlugosz, Jonathan Leon and Austin Woods. The top returners on defense are Aiden Holewski (47 tackles, three sacks a year ago) and Woods (22 tackles, 3 ½ sacks).
