Outlook

Palm Harbor University started off strong last year. The Hurricanes won three straight games, including the program’s first-ever victory over Countryside. Then came a mid-season slump that ended up costing Palm Harbor University a chance at a winning record. To regain some of the early season momentum, the Hurricanes have to fill some holes. They lost their leading passer, rusher, receiver and three of their top four leading tacklers, all of whom either graduated or transferred to other schools. The biggest losses this offseason were running back Luke Yoder (1,602 yards, 13 touchdowns last year) and linebacker Gunner Fodor (85 tackles, 3 ½ sacks), both of whom are now at East Lake. Still, there are some playmakers left. Will Seibert, who shined on the defensive side as a freshman last season, takes over at quarterback. The top two targets are Mason Kryk and Alex Schmid. A bulk of the running duties will be handled by Mykehl Boebert, a late season addition from junior varsity a year ago. Walker Danneman will help anchor the line on both sides of the ball.
