Outlook

Thor Jozwiak, a former USF standout, had a successful debut as coach of the Tornadoes last season, guiding the program to an 11-2 record and their first region final appearance. The biggest task in the offseason was replacing quarterback Aidan MacLean, who set a Pinellas County record with 42 touchdown passes last year but is now in college. Trey Whirley, a transfer from Indian Rocks Christian, takes over as the starter. Whirley is not the only new face in the backfield. The top running backs are a pair of transfers, Ti’lan McGee (East Lake) and Jordan Mouzon (Calvary Christian). Adam Alacea is the holdover on a receiving corps that includes transfers David Avant (East Lake), Justin Ingram (Dunedin) and Michael Jelks (Dunedin), among others.  The offensive line is massive, led by Isaiah Hayes and Tyrek Tripp, both of whom are 335 pounds. The top returner on defense is Jarvis Boatwright Jr., a major college recruit who recorded 67 tackles last season. Other playmakers on that side of the ball include Jaylen Bobbitt and Nelson Tensley in the secondary and Austin Owens at linebacker.
