Football: Army Tampa Bay area defensive player of the week (Region semifinals/Nov. 18)

Here are the nominees for the Tampa Bay area football defensive player of the week, sponsored by the Army. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Monday. 

DL/LB Callahan Blair, Jr., Calvary Christian: Finished with 10 tackles, a forced and a fumble recovery in an overtime win over Berkeley Prep. 

LB Troy Bowles, Sr., Jesuit: Recorded three interceptions, returning two for touchdowns, in a win over Gaither. 

LB Zayvion McCluster, Sr., Largo: Led the Packers with 12 tackles, an interception and a blocked punt in a win over East Bay. 

SS Nick Mirabella, Jr., East Lake: Recorded four tackles and picked off two passes in a win over Plant. 

FS Gedontae Rich, So., Clearwater Central Catholic: Ended up with 12 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a blocked field goal in a win over Indian Rocks Christian. 

DL Solomon Williams, Jr., Carrollwood Day: Led the Patriots with 14 tackles and five sacks in a win over Northside Christian.
