Football: Terrence Hicks named coach at Plant City

Terrence Hicks, who spent the past season as Plant City’s defensive coordinator, was officially named the school’s head coach on Monday.

Hicks replaces Michael Clayton, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver who stepped down two weeks ago after one season with the Raiders. At the time, Hicks was named the interim coach before having the tag removed with Monday’s promotion.

Before coming to Plant City, Hicks spent time as a defensive backs coach at King (2018) and the defensive coordinator at Alonso (2018-20). He inherits a team that went 3-7 this past season
