Football: Army Pasco County defensive player of the year — Dec. 20

Here are the nominees for the Pasco County defensive player of the year, sponsored by the Army. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday.

DB Braden Cook, Sr., River Ridge: Finished with 84 tackles, four interceptions and three forced fumbles. 

LB Antonio Hunt, Sr., Zephyrhills Christian: Ended up with 60 tackles and 15 sacks for the Warriors. 

LB Jake Levake, Sr., Mitchell: Recorded 87 tackles, six sacks and four forced fumbles for the Mustangs. 

LB Kevin Marks, Sr., Land O’ Lakes: Finished with 100 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles. 

DB DJ Pickett, So., Zephyrhills: The two-way standout had 39 tackles, four interceptions and a fumble recovery for the Bulldogs. 

DE Anthony Pratt, Sr., Pasco: Finished with 87 tackles, 15 sacks and three forced fumbles for the Pirates.
