Football: Army Pinellas County defensive player of the year (Classes 2-1M) — Dec. 22

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County football defensive player of the year in Classes 2-1 of the Metro Division, sponsored by the Army. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

LB Callahan Blair, Jr., Calvary Christian: Led the Warriors with 134 tackles, eight sacks and three fumble recoveries. 

SS Andy Jaffe, Jr., Clearwater Central Catholic: Finished with 123 tackles and two interceptions for the Marauders this season.

FS Daylan Moore, Jr., Calvary Christian: Ended up with 91 tackles and four interceptions for the Warriors this season.

DE Isaiah Nixon, Sr., Lakewood: Registered 56 tackles, 13 sacks and five forced fumbles.   

FS Carson Schiavello, Sr., Clearwater Central Catholic: Recorded 91 tackles, six sacks and two fumble recoveries. 

DL Taveon Wheeler, Sr., Lakewood: Finished with 65 tackles, 13 sacks and two forced fumbles.
