Here are the nominees for the Hernando County volleyball team of the year, sponsored by the Army. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Hernando Christian: The Lions went 17-7 and advanced to the semifinals of the Class 2A, District 9 tournament. 

Nature Coast: The Sharks, who played a challenging schedule, finished 11-14 and reached the region quarterfinals.  

Springstead: The Eagles finished 22-5, their first winning season since 2017, reached the semifinals of the Class 6A, District 9 tournament and made the region quarterfinals. 

Weeki Wachee: Despite graduating a bulk of their starters from the previous season, the Hornets went 14-9, won the Class 4A, District 9 title and reached the region quarterfinals
