Girls basketball: Hillsborough County player of the week — Dec. 26-31

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County girls basketball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Sunday. 

Grace Gavin, Jr., Academy of the Holy Names: The tournament MVP averaged 19.7 points in three games, including a win over Gulf in the title game. 

Beckham Hockley, Jr., Sickles: Led the Gryphons with 33 points, seven assists and five steals in a win over Mitchell. 

Julia Miller, Sr., Plant: Named tournament MVP after leading the Panthers to the title in their division at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. 

Maiya Petit, Sr., Tampa Bay Tech: Averaged 10 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists to lead the Titans to a 3-1 record at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. 

Masiel Reyes, Sr., Riverview: Averaged 21 points, seven steals and five rebounds per game in leading the Sharks to a 3-1 record at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. 

Janyia Scott, So., Wharton: Named tournament MVP after leading the Wildcats to the Egmont Key Bracket title.
