Girls soccer: Hillsborough County player of the week — Jan. 30-Feb. 4

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County girls soccer player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Megan Anderson, Jr., Newsome: Had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 victory over Strawberry Crest in the semifinals of the Class 7A, District 6 tournament. 

Charlotte Cuddy, Jr., Berkeley Prep: Scored the Buccaneers’ lone goal in regulation off an assist from Kate Cunningham that helped force overtime in a match Berkeley Prep ultimately won in penalty kicks over rival Tampa Catholic in the Class 3A, District 7 final. 

Elizabeth Egan, Fr., Bloomingdale: Recorded a combined five goals in the Class 6A, District 11 tournament, including four to beat Armwood for the title. 

Rachel Horn, Jr., Durant: Finished with two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Winter Haven in the semifinals of the Class 7A, District 6 tournament. 

Vanessa Hutto, So., Freedom: Scored a combined four goals in wins over Blake and Brandon to lead the Patriots to the Class 5A, District 8 title. 

Emma Wasson, Fr., Hillsborough: Made a combined 20 saves and allowed just one goal in wins over Countryside and Sickles to help the Terriers take home the Class 6A, District 10 title.
