Girls basketball: Hillsborough County player of the week — Jan. 30-Feb. 4

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County girls basketball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Mejida Balla, Sr., Universal Academy: Scored a team-high 10 points in a win over Cambridge Christian in the Class 2A, District 9 final. 

Gabrielle Bush, Jr., Tampa Prep: Finished with a combined 24 points in the Class 3A, District 9 tournament, including a team-high 18 in a semifinal win over Tampa Catholic, to help the Terrapins take home the title. 

Deanna Epps, Jr., Hillsborough: Recorded 11 points, four rebounds and three assists in a win over Wharton in the Class 6A, District 9 final. 

Grace Gavin, Jr., Academy of the Holy Names: Averaged 14.3 points per game in the Class 4A, District 10 tournament, including a team-high 19 in a win over Lakewood in the final. 

Aniya Morelli, Sr., Spoto: Scored a team-high eight points and had seven rebounds in a win over King in the Class 5A, District 8 final. 

Tanner Strickland, Sr., Plant: Finished with 19 points, six steals and three assists in a win over Sickles in the Class 7A, District 10 tournament. 

Kyrstin Wolff, Sr., Bloomingdale: Recorded a double-double (16 points, 12 rebounds) in a win over Tampa Bay Tech in the Class 6A, District 10 final.
