Both teams put the struggles of last season behind them by getting off to starts with wins in their openers at the Packer Invitational. Now, they each go after a bigger confidence boost in the semifinals with a chance to reach the title game.

Steady pitching – and timely hitting – helped both teams advance in the quarterfinals of the tournament. The depth among each staff could play a factor considering they are playing on consecutive nights.
