This would seem like a mismatch based on last year’s results. The host Hurricanes won both meetings by a combined 22-4. But the Ravens have improved considerably. After starting last season 2-7, Alonso won eight of its last 11 games and built on that momentum with a solid showing in the preseason. 

Sumner at Tampa Catholic, 6

A matchup between teams that made the region quarterfinals a year ago. This one also features two quality aces, the Stingrays’ Alyssa Vallad and the Crusaders’ Angelina Ricciardi. 

Clearwater Central Catholic at Academy of the Holy Names, 6

The Marauders are playing with heavy hearts after the passing of coach John Counts. They also are eager to see where they stand against the Jaguars, one of the best teams in the area.
