Baseball: Hillsborough County pitcher of the week — Feb. 20-25

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County baseball pitcher of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Bransen Angel, Sr., Tampa Catholic: Threw five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and recording seven strikeouts in a win over Indian Rocks Christian

Zack Bird, Jr., Lennard: Threw a three-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in a win over Spoto.

Brooks Chamberlin, Sr., Jesuit: Threw a combined five innings, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out seven in wins over River Ridge and Lowndes (Ga.). 

Tyler Fritsch, Sr., Bell Creek Academy: Threw a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in a win over Keswick Christian. 

Yadiel Garcia, Jr., Chamberlain: Led the Chiefs by throwing a one-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts in a win over Brandon.

Rivers Kurland, So., Berkeley Prep: Threw four scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out 10 on the mound and went 2-for-2 with two RBIs at the plate in a win over Lakeland McKeel Academy.
