What to watch

Steinbrenner (4-1) at Land O’ Lakes (4-2), 4

The Warriors, ranked No. 5 in Class 7A by MaxPreps, are off to a 4-1 start that includes wins against Riverview, Plant and Robinson. The host Gators, ranked No. 5 in 6A, are coming off a 3-1 loss to Osceola that lasted nine innings on Thursday. 

Academy of the Holy Names (3-0) at Calvary Christian (4-1), 6

A top-tier matchup between the past two state champions in Class 3A. Last year, the host Warriors beat the Jaguars twice, including a region final victory that propelled the program to its first state title. Both teams could end up meeting again in the postseason.  

Palm Harbor University (4-2) at Auburndale (4-2), 8

The nightcap for the Hurricanes at Bartow’s Tournament of Champions is a challenge. The Bloodhounds’ only two losses were by a run each to Lake Minneola and Lake Region.
