Softball: Pinellas County pitcher of the week — March 6-11

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County softball pitcher of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Sarah Blackett, Jr., St. Petersburg: Led the Green Devils by throwing a four-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in a win over Canterbury. 

Malia Connelly, Jr., Clearwater Central Catholic: Threw a four-hitter, allowing two earned runs while striking out seven in a win over Ocala Trinity Catholic. 

Aliyah Lai, So., Osceola: Hurled a four-hitter, allowing one unearned run while striking out 13 in a win over Land O’ Lakes that lasted nine innings. 

Lucy Mondok, Fr., East Lake: Led the Eagles by throwing a pair of shutouts, allowing a combined six hits and recording 21 strikeouts in wins over Hernando and Hollins. 

Paige Sofge, Fr., Largo: Gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits and recorded 11 strikeouts to help the Packers beat Boca Ciega for their first win of the season. 

Mylie Stout, Fr., Palm Harbor University: Tossed a two-hit shutout with a pair of strikeouts in a win over Lake Wales. 

Morgen Talley, Jr., Calvary Christian: Allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out 13 in a win over Academy of the Holy Names.
