After going on a six-game win streak, the Coyotes are trying to bounce back from losing their last two games at the Farm Bureau Classic. The Mustangs, ranked No. 5 in Class 2A by MaxPreps, have won seven of their last eight games. The lone loss in that stretch was by a run in eight innings to IMG Academy.
Wiregrass Ranch (5-0) at Mitchell (9-2), 7
Pitching and defense have played a pivotal role in the Bulls’ perfect start to the season. After all, Wiregrass Ranch has given up just one run in its first five games. To remain undefeated, the Bulls have to get past the Mustangs, who have won seven straight games after a 2-2 start.
Palm Harbor University (4-2) at Osceola (7-3), 7
Warriors coach Stefan Futch can hit a major milestone. If Osceola can prevail, Futch will earn his 400th career victory. It will not be easy. The Hurricanes, led by longtime coach Tom Hilbert, had their four-game win streak snapped with a loss to state-ranked Dunedin last week.
