This is a rematch from a game the Panthers won 15-8 last month. 

Plant, which has won nine straight games, is ranked sixth in the class by MaxPreps. Three of their five losses have been by a point, including two in overtime. 

The host Mustangs rebounded from a loss to Steinbrenner in the 2A-10 district final to win their first two playoff games, beating Alonso 16-6 in the region quarterfinals and surviving an 8-7 overtime thriller in a rematch against the Warriors in the region semifinals.

Both teams are ranked among the top six in the class, the top 10 in the state and the top 40 in the nation according to MaxPreps. 

This also is a rematch of last year’s region final that the Tigers won 9-6. 

The Seahawks, ranked No. 6 in the class, No. 9 in the state and No. 39 nationally, have won five straight games, the last coming in a 13-12 thriller against Sarasota Cardinal Mooney in the region semifinals. 

Jesuit, ranked No. 5 in the class, No. 8 in the state and No. 39 nationally, enters on a six-game win streak and has outscored its last four opponents by a combined 73-14.
