Softball: Hillsborough County hitter of the week — May 1-4

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County hitter of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

KK Hollenkamp, Jr., Academy of the Holy Names: Powered the Jaguars with two homers, a double and three RBIs in a win over Tampa Catholic in the Class 3A-9 district title. 

Megan Loughren, Sr., Gaither: Ended up going a combined 4-for-7 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored in wins over Wharton and Wiregrass Ranch for the 6A-6 district title. 

Teagan Riley, Sr., Plant: Finished 3-for-4 with two homers, two RBIs and two runs scored in a win over Palm Harbor University in the Class 7A-7 district title game. 

Araya Stearns, Jr., Robinson: Went a combined 3-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs scored in wins over King and Jefferson for the Class 4A-9 district title. 

Camryn Vangalder, Jr., Bloomingdale: Finished perfect at the plate, going a combined 5-for-5 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored in wins over Lennard and Palmetto for the Class 6A-7 district title. 

Samantha Walz, Sr., Newsome: Went a combined 4-for-8 with an RBI, two runs scored and set the school record for stolen bases in a season with 25 in wins over Durant and Winter Haven for the 7A-7 district title.
