Softball: Pasco County hitter of the week — May 1-4

Here are the nominees for the Pasco County hitter of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Cat Durden, Jr., Pasco: Had a combined four hits, including two doubles, a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored in wins over Belleview and Lecanto for the Class 5A-5 district title. 

Kylee Johnson, Sr., Wiregrass Ranch: Powered the offense by going 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored in a win over Tampa Bay Tech in the Class 6A-6 district semifinals. 

Kendall McCants, So., Wesley Chapel: Had a homer, a double, three RBIs and a run scored in a win over Zephyrhills in the Class 5A-7 district semifinals. 

Taryn Newton, So., River Ridge: Ended up going a combined 4-for-7 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored in wins over Cypress Creek and Wesley Chapel for the Class 5A-7 district title. 

Nidgi Schnaeidr, Sr., Academy at the Lakes: Went a combined 3-for-4 with a homer, a double, four RBIs and three runs scored in wins over Bishop McLaughlin and Hernando Christian for the Class 2A-6 district title.
