Baseball: Hillsborough County hitter of the week — May 1-4

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County hitter of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Andrew Bunner, So., Tampa SLAM: Went a combined 5-for-8 with a homer, a triple, seven RBIs and three runs scored in two Class 2A-10 district games. 

Johnny Delarosa, Jr., Bloomingdale: Ended up going a combined 4-for-6 with two RBIs in wins over Plant City and Lennard for the Class 6A-11 district title. 

Joseph Fritz, Sr., Jefferson: Went a combined 3-for-6 with three runs scored in wins over King and Robinson for the Class 4A-10 district title. 

Grant Jordan, Sr., Jesuit: Hit for the cycle, going 4-for-4, and finished with seven RBIs in a win over Freedom in the Class 5A-9 district semifinals.  

CJ Koenck, Sr., Seffner Christian: Had two triples, a double, three RBIs and two runs scored in a win over Cambridge Christian in the Class 2A-10 district semifinals.  

Caden McDonald, Sr., Sickles: Went a combined 3-for-4 with a homer, a double, four RBIs and two runs scored in wins over Pinellas Park and East Lake for the Class 6A-10 district title. 

Pete Oderio, Jr., Durant: Had a combined two hits, including the one that drove in the lone run to beat Strawberry Crest in the 7A-6 district semifinals en route to bringing home the title. 

Bryan Rivera Santiago, Sr., Alonso: Ended up going a combined 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored in wins over Palm Harbor University and Plant for the Class 7A-7 district title. 

Scout Simpson, Sr., Gaither: Finished a combined 5-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored in wins over Leto and Armwood for the Class 6A-5 district title.  

Joseph Troupe, So., Berkeley Prep: Powered the Buccaneers by hitting two homers and finishing with six RBIs in a win over Bell Creek Academy in the Class 3A-5 district semifinals.
