Here are the nominees for the Pasco County softball pitcher of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Katie Ferguson, So., Academy at the Lakes: Threw 3 ⅓ innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out six in a win over Winter Park Geneva in the Class 2A region quarterfinals. 

Aliana Mercado, Sr., Land O’ Lakes: Allowed five runs on eight hits and recorded five strikeouts in a win over Punta Gorda Charlotte in the Class 6A region quarterfinals. 

Morgan Montelongo, Fr., Pasco: Gave up three runs (one earned) while striking out four in a win over Wesley Chapel in the Class 5A region quarterfinals that lasted nine innings. 

Jayda Smith, Sr., River Ridge: Threw a two-hitter, allowing two runs (one earned) while striking out 12 in a win over Seminole in the Class 5A region quarterfinals. 

MacKenzie Tucker, Fr., Mitchell: Led the Mustangs by throwing a one-hit shutout with three strikeouts in a win over East Lake in the Class 7A region quarterfinals.
