Boys soccer: Hillsborough County player of the year (Classes 4A-2A) — June 8

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County boys soccer player of the year in Classes 4A-2A. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Danny Alvarez, Jr., Tampa Prep: Scored a team-high eight goals and had three assists to help the Terrapins advance to the Class 3A state semifinals. 

Sean Cocoran, Sr., Carrollwood Day: Finished as the team’s leading scorer and helped the Patriots reached the Class 2A region final. 

Dylan Dana, Sr., Tampa Catholic: Recorded 14 goals and four assists to lead the Crusaders to the Class 3A region final.  

Luke Hunter, Sr., Tampa Prep: Ended up with two goals and two assists during the Terrapins’ run to the 3A state semifinals. 

Naveen Jayaram, Sr., Robinson: The all-conference selection was a versatile player who helped the Knights advance to the Class 5A region quarterfinals. 

Cooper Leibundguth, So., Cambridge Christian: Recorded 18 goals and seven assists in helping the Lancers reach the Class 2A region quarterfinal. 

Brayden Montague, So., Carrollwood Day: The goalkeeper played a pivotal role in helping the Patriots reach the Class 2A region final. 

JB Montague, Jr., Tampa Prep: Made 58 saves to help the Terrapins reach the Class 3A state semifinals. 

Kaden Nesbitt, Sr., King: The all-conference midfielder scored four goals and helped the Lions reach the Class 4A region final. 

Jacob Sams, Sr., Berkeley Prep: Finished with 10 assists and five goals to help the Buccaneers reach the Class 3A region quarterfinals. 

Rikhil Venkataperumal, Jr., King: Recorded 12 goals and six assists to lead the Lions to the Class 4A region final.
