Softball: Hernando’s Hannah Taylor repeats as 3A player of the year

Hernando’s Hannah Taylor, regarded as one of the top hitters in the state, was named the Class 3A state player of the year for the second straight season by the Florida Dairy Farmers.

This season, the Eckerd signee finished with a .546 batting average and had 17 homers, 50 RBIs and 46 runs scored. She led the state in homers and was second in RBIs.

Those numbers were a big reason Taylor was able to lead the Leopards to their third straight region final appearance.

The winners in each classification were selected through voting from a statewide panel of softball coaches and media representatives.
