Football: Pinellas County top quarterback (Classes 4-3M) — July 7

Here are the nominees for the top quarterback in Pinellas County in Classes 4-3M. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Monday.

John Angelo, Sr., Countryside: Takes over as the full time starter after throwing for 949 yards and eight touchdowns last season.  

Jaden Casanova, Jr., Pinellas Park: Last year’s junior varsity quarterback won the starting job in the spring. 

Landon Holley, Fr., East Lake: The newcomer already has offers from UCF, Florida and USF and will be competing for the starting job. 

Jeffery Jones, Jr., St. Petersburg: The dual-threat ran for 1,381 yards and 15 touchdowns while leading the Green Devils to the Class 3M region quarterfinals. 

Eli Millian, So., East Lake: One of the contenders competing for the starting job heading into the season. 

Jack Moraniec, Sr., Osceola: Takes over as the starter and will try to help the Warriors defend their district title from last season. 

Mario Plummer, Jr., Northeast: Named the starter after throwing for 298 yards and four touchdowns in a limited role last season. 

Will Seibert, Jr., Palm Harbor University: Accounted for more than 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns to lead the Hurricanes to a winning record last season. 

Jeremy Thomas, Sr., Largo: Threw for 1,598 yards and seven touchdowns to help the Packers reach the Class 3M region final. 

Trey Whirley, Sr., Northeast: The Clearwater transfer will see playing time and provide depth for the Vikings.
