Football: Hillsborough County top quarterback (Classes 2-1M) — July 18

Here are the nominees for the top quarterback in Hillsborough County in Class 2-1M. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Eric Archield Jr., Jr., Robinson: Threw for 1,692 yards and 19 touchdowns while leading the Knights to the Class 2M region quarterfinals last season. 

Jake Coniglio, Jr., Carrollwood Day:  Will compete for the starting spot after throwing for 668 yards and five touchdowns for the 1M region finalist Patriots last year.  

Aljavonnie Daymon, Jr., Middleton: Threw for 870 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Tigers this past season.  

Jaydis Downs, So., Blake: Last year’s backup moves into the starting spot for the Yellow Jackets.  

Rico Garcia, Jr., Berkeley Prep: The versatile athlete moves into the starting spot for the defending Class 2M region semifinalist Buccaneers.  

Gabe Hagen, So., Cambridge Christian: Will compete for the starting spot for the Lancers this season.  

Trey Hedden, Sr., Tampa Catholic: The Furman commit threw for 1,896 yards and 27 touchdowns to lead the Crusaders to the Class 2M region semifinals last year.  

Daivon Kindred, So., King: Returns as the starter after throwing for 299 yards and a touchdown for the defending 2M region quarterfinalist Lions.  

Eli Leaver, Jr., Cambridge Christian: Will compete for the starting job after throwing for 916 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Lancers last season.  

Jordan Magwood, Jr., Carrollwood Day: The Seffner Christian transfer is competing for the starting spot with the Patriots.
