Former Wesley Chapel star Isaiah Bolden released from hospital

New England Patriots cornerback Isaiah Bolden was released from the Aurora Bay Medical Center in Green Bay after staying overnight for evaluation due to an injury in Saturday’s preseason game against the Packers, according to a statement by the Patriots.

Bolden, who starred at Wesley Chapel, was immobilized on a stretcher following a hit while making a tackle in the fourth quarter. The teams decided to call off the rest of the game.

The Patriots said Saturday that Bolden had feeling in all his extremities but would remain in the hospital overnight to be evaluated.

He traveled with the team today following his release. In the wake of the injury, the Patriots decided to cancel joint practices with the Titans leading up to this week’s preseason game between the teams.

Bolden played at FSU before transferring to Jackson State to play for former Seminoles standout Deion Sanders. In April, Bolden was selected in the seventh round by the Patriots, becoming the only player from an HBCU team to be drafted this year.
