Here are the nominees for the Hernando County volleyball player of the week from Aug. 21-26. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Addison Carpenter, Jr., Nature Coast: Led the Sharks to a season-opening victory over Weeki Wachee.

Madison Guzik, Sr., Hernando: Finished with 11 assists, 11 digs and three service aces in a win over Central. 

Payton Meyers, Sr., Hernando Christian: Recorded a combined 27 kills and 25 digs in wins over Hernando, Real Life Christian and Nature Coast. 

Emily Miller, Sr., Springstead: Ended up with 18 kills and four digs in a win over Central. 

Isabel Shelby, Jr., Weeki Wachee: Recorded 33 assists and 10 digs in a loss to Nature Coast.
