Football: Hillsborough County Defensive Player of the Week — Week 4, Sept. 14-15, 2023

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County defensive player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Mikey Allen, Sr., Tampa Catholic: Had five tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in a win over Lehigh. 

Michael Bell, Sr., Plant City: Recorded 10 tackles and forced a fumble in a win over Durant. 

Titus Bullard, Sr., Berkeley Prep: Ended up with nine tackles, 1 ½ sacks and a forced fumble in a win over Sarasota Booker. 

Donovan Isaac, Sr., Alonso: Had eight tackles and a sack in a win over Sickles. 

JJ Johnson, Sr., Riverview: Finished with six tackles and an interception in a win over East Bay. 

Malachi Johnson, So., Strawberry Crest: Ended up with four tackles and two sacks in a Leto. 

Ryan Johnson, Sr., Carrollwood Day: Finished with 15 tackles and a sack in a win over Ocala Trinity Catholic. 

Deron Manuel, So., Plant: Recorded four tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery in a win over Robinson. 

William Miller, Sr., Steinbrenner: Finished with 11 tackles and a sack in a win over Lennard. 

Jacob Plaisir, So., Hillsborough: Returned an interception for a touchdown in a win over Jefferson. 

Elijah Rich, Jr., Sickles: Ended up with six tackles and three sacks in a loss to Alonso. 

Hunter Smith, Jr., Durant: Recorded 13 tackles, two sacks and forced a fumble in a loss to Plant City.

Cyler Ward, Sr., Tampa Bay Tech: Recorded four tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in a win over Bloomingdale.
