Football: Pinellas County Defensive Player of the Week — Week 8, Oct. 13, 2023

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County defensive player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

Jeremiah Helm, Jr., East Lake: Returned an interception for a touchdown in a win over Sickles. 

Patrick Iaconis, So., Palm Harbor University: Had 10 tackles in a loss to Steinbrenner. 

Chris Kalu, Sr., Largo: Recorded 14 tackles and a fumble recovery in a win over Seminole. 

Allen Reynolds, Sr., St. Petersburg Catholic: Had six tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery in a win over LaBelle. 

Michael Shoro, Jr., Osceola: Finished with seven tackles and a fumble recovery in a win over Countryside. 

Gavin Thomas, Sr., Calvary Christian: Totaled eight tackles and a sack in a win over Clearwater. 

Sir Jacob Thompson, Sr., Northeast: Ended up with seven tackles and had an interception and a half sack in a win over Hollins. 

Patrick Walker, Sr., St. Petersburg: Recorded two sacks in a win over Pinellas Park.
