Football: Pinellas County Offensive Player of the Week — Week 8, Oct. 13, 2023

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County offensive player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

Keontae Byas, Jr., Lakewood: The dual-threat quarterback had a hand in all three of the Spartans’ touchdowns in a win over Gibbs. 

Steve Doletzky, Jr., Osceola: Had six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown in a win over Countryside. 

Jeff Jones, Jr., St. Petersburg: Ran for 188 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in a win over Pinellas Park. 

Malik Newton, Fr., St. Petersburg Catholic: Had a 64-yard touchdown reception in a win over LaBelle. 

Malachi Peterson, Sr., Largo: Ran for 119 yards and a touchdown in a win over Seminole. 

Andrew Sammons, Jr., East Lake: Finished with two catches for 52 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Sickles. 

Riley Smith, Sr., Calvary Christian: Had three catches for 35 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Calvary Christian. 

Trey Whirley, Jr., Northeast: Threw for four touchdowns in a win over Hollins.
