Trio of locals play in Cal State Fullerton’s opener

Three former area standouts — Jalen Cooper (Anclote), Max Jones (Clearwater) and Beril Kabamba (Dunedin/Clearwater Academy) — all played in Cal State Fullerton’s season-opening loss to No. 17 San Diega State.

Jones led the locals with 11 points and eight rebounds. Kabamba had four points and three rebounds and Cooper added four rebounds and two points.
